We recommend testing through Gene by Gene and have attached a copy of their price list below. Please note that the cost of testing includes update to both the FamilyTreeDNA database and Gedmatch.
*The databases we use to solve violent crimes have different definitions.
Gene by Gene (Parent company of FamilyTreeDNA):
Permission to use the Service for law enforcement purposes is only granted in the following cases:
To identify the remains of a deceased individual
To identify a perpetrator of homicide, sexual assault, or abduction
GEDmatch:
You will only use the Services for law enforcement use to identify the perpetrator of a violent crime (where 'violent crime' is defined as murder, non-negligent manslaughter, aggravated rape, robbery, or aggravated assault) or to identify human remains (which, for clarity, excludes fetal remains and remains of stillborn children), and only in a manner that complies with all laws that apply to you.
** Full disclosure, Barbara Rae-Venter is the director of Investigative Genetic Genealogy at Gene by Gene.
